Todd Herlitz is a Chicago-based designer, illustrator, and author with a career spanning consumer products, toys, and entertainment. He has developed products for brands in the Consumer Electronics, Housewares, Furniture, and Packaging categories. He has also developed toys and children’s products for major brands like Fisher-Price, Hot Wheels, Hasbro, and Radio Flyer, where he served as Design Director for over six years.
Through his award-winning independent Industrial Design studio, Volume, Todd continues to shape products for iconic brands and emerging tech startups. In-between client projects, he’s usually working on children's book ideas, inventing new product concepts, or fixing his %&*#@$ 3D printers. Todd’s creative footprint extends into entertainment, having served as Lead Character Designer for the first two seasons of Chuggington, a popular children’s TV show. He has also contributed vehicle designs for Paw Patrol (both the TV series and movie) and worked as a creative consultant for Radio Flyer Studios, the content division of the century-old toy brand. Away from the drawing board, Todd enjoys building modern furniture in his wood shop and playing drums in Chicago rock band Black Cat Heart Attack. Todd lives in the Chicagoland area with his wife, two kids, and a dog who needs LOTS of scratches. |
